Power Rangers Dino Thunder: DX Ankylozord Gallery
 

Tokunation continues our month-long Power Rangers Dino Thunder tribute with a gallery of the deluxe Ankylosaurus Zord!

The Ankylozord is one of five auxiliary zords used in Dino Thunder that can be summoned by either the Black Ranger or the Triassic Ranger. This zord can replace the Tricerazord as an arm and allows the Thundersaurus Megazord to perform the Ankylo Double Drill finishing move. The Ankylozord also forms the left arm of the Triceramax Megazord.

The deluxe figure is approximately nine inches long and has a spinning shield/tail gimmick that runs on the motor in the Tyrannozord.

I always felt the Ankylozord was undermined by the base Megazord having a drill to start with. And not being a Gurren fan, I really never went drill crazy.

i never saw this in stores. what megazord was it sold with or was it individual?

Meanwhile I AM a Gurren Lagann fanboy, and the 2-drill arm look doesn't do anything for me :lol

That being said I do like the look of the Ankylozord on its own.

I always liked Ankylo. Especially the Double Drill, it was always my favorite attack. Beautiful Gallery, Con.

I remember they were sold with these odd playset things. Kind of like how the Blast Buggy from Dekaranger/SPD was sold with a playset of static figures. But the odd thing was they did not sell all of the auxiliary zords. One of them was missing as was even excluded from the instructions of the Ultrazord (or whatever it was called). Anyone remember which one that was?

It was available in a two pack with the dx Parasaurzord. The Cephalozord was the only auxilliary zord to not receive a U.S. release.

Yet they released the Mezodon. So you had to buy a japanese DX so finish the damn Ultra Zord off!

man I had a buddy working at TRU watching for that thing back then, it was lick a SWAT team rolling out when I got the text. Still suprised to this day 'full blast custom' didn't have a helmet.

As much as I love the color, Ankydon did it better.
