I LOVE ESCAFLOWNE. I think it is a damn shame that not only has the SHE x Tamashii project never materialized, but Tamashii yet to even make SRC Guymulefs! Come on now, I wouldn't even care if the Escaflowne itself couldn't transform into the dragon mode!

All we have are some relatively weak looking plamo from the 90's and the late 90's BoA under-articulated Escaflowne figure and of course Yamato's old Escaflowne designed by Billy Wong(very outdated figure).

I want me some Escaflowne!

Anyways the series was great, movie had great animation but the story and characterizations were a lot weaker. Then again, not fair to compare in a way but some compare nonetheless. I'm still glad I have the movie but yea, the series is a lot stronger story-wise. Much more in-depth and interesting.

Especially when they reveal who Alan's sister actually was...

The only other option for a transforming Escaflowne toy was made by Yamato years ago. its a floppy piece of shit.

Very true. Plus since it was a Tamashii x SHE product, chances are the engineering would have been incredible.

Dude you really do, it's one of my favorite anime series. Great story, music, characterization, designs, et al.

Just don't watch the Fox Kids version!...I doubt that even exists anymore, but can't be to careful. :p

Oh god that version is TERRRIBLLLLEEEE!! I saw a few episodes when it came out, but before it, my 1st experience with Escaflowne was from a bootleg back in 98 or so.

Luckily the Bandai Visual set has the sub version(and I think dub too), but the sub is there uncut.

Sadly, Fox Kids was the first time I saw Escaflowne. I'm so glad Fox Kids cut it off without finishing it because I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to get the great uncut DVDs to finish it otherwise. I do remember thinking to myself "why is this on Fox Kids? It's clearly meant for Toonami."

I'm going to have to assume you mean the Japanese Bandai Visual cause the US rights are tied up in Bandai Entertainment's licenses. I have the Bandai Ent Anime Legends set. I've heard those sets are getting pricey now that Bandai Ent has...dies? I never did find out was happened to that company.

Wait yea I meant the Anime Legends set. Bandai Entertainment ceased operations last year IIRC or maybe earlier, once Bandai decided that they wouldn't bringing over anime to the US anymore.

Well I did some digging, and looks like Bandai did make an Escaflowne Model Kit that's kinda rare now:

Think we meant transforming. Not sure about the model, but I know the other one doesn't (plus, it's pretty much a statue). Honestly, I just want a nice non-transforming Robot Damashii at this point. Robot Damashii mostly so there's a better chance for a few other Guymelefs too.


There's so many Anime Legends sets I should've bought. Now I can't find any of them for anything close to a decent price.

PS I'm still pissed at Bandai Ent for stopping right when they were about to finally bring over Gundam X, but that's for the Gundam thread :p
