TV-Nihon have just dropped the subs for this, so I know what I'll be doing tonight :D

So I finally got around to watching this today despite downloading it when I made that first post.

Not a bad special at all - a bit predictable on the plot side of things but enjoyable nonetheless. Its always nice to see a female-led toku production where fanservice isn't rife either (though I could have done without the villains' gothic lolita outfits)

Also Tousei is in it! Playing....Rekka's dad. Was really weird seeing him not playing a hyperactive worm of a villain :lol

That was actually his first role in Garo; he played the part in Red Requiem, too. I may sit down and watch this tonight. Part of me wants to hold out for non-TVN subs, but it looks like it may take awhile for O-T to get a raw and I don't really feel like waiting that long.

The TV-N subs are actually pretty good to be fair, the only really noticeable thing is a lot of "nee-sans".

Same here, I just remembered some discussion about that fact when the new series was announced.

Okay, just watched it. It was... surprisingly homoerotic. :lol Mostly Magi, yeah, but even that stuff with Rekka and Jabi at the end.

It was a fun movie, all in all. The story was pretty slight and not that original, but it worked. A decent portion of it depended on Rekka being kind of dumb, and that amused me a bit. It's funny, I didn't really realize just how off the new series really felt until I watched this and it had all of the classic Garo touches to it.

I liked the cameo by Rekka's dad, but the cameo I really loved was the return of Rin, the only major character who hadn't appeared in Makai Senki. Of course, neither was ultimately as awesome as the brief appearance of Savior in the Dark during the final battle. Still the single best piece of music in the whole damn franchise.

I remember the talk at Makai Night a while ago when someone asked Amemiya about what if Kaoru isn't around in Makaisenki.
Amemiya simply said Kouga will be kidnapped by Jabi and Rekka to make babies. :D
After watching this movie I am pretty sure there is something really going on between those people.

Sorry for the necro-ed, this movie past down my radar at the time and I finally watched the fresh Over-Time sub yesterday.

So yeah, as some people have nicknamed it: "Legs, the movie" (I think I heard that first in one of HenshinJustice podcast).
Fanservice, cool fights, evil main boss reincarnation, yep, that's my Garo, with a touch of les-yay.

Isn't that cool to have a laser disc to be the last boss of the show.

I really enjoyed this movie when I watched it, well I love Jabi and Rekka though.
