What if Disney still made Power Rangers shows?
 

So what if Saban never got the rights back to the franchise and Disney still made Power Rangers shows after 2009. Do you think their Power Rangers version of Shinkenger - Gokaiger would be better or wost then what we have now? I think we would not be three years behind adapting Sentai shows since we would be getting a Power Rangers version of Kyoryuger if we didn't stay behind. I think their shows could be better depending who wrote them.

Disney didn't seem to care about the franchise that much seeing that we never saw much marketing for their later shows from what I can remember. With Saban, they made Power Rangers more active and more mainstream again. With Disney, we would not get any of the cool 20th anniversary stuff like the Power Morpher and the Zyuranger S.H figuarts right now. I doubt we would get the MMPR DVD releases from Shout!.

It's really hard to imagine how Disney's versions would be like because their entire production team would be different. RPM really was meant as a final season and the production team not meant to stay longer than one season.

Goseiger and Gokaiger would've been two different seasons, seasons wouldn't take two damned years to complete, and Tzachor would still be out of work.

So basically, our wet dream?

Well, the current scenario is just a "What if," either a new production team or keeping the same.

Anyway, being real, I don't think Shinkenger could really work at all in the States unless they completely removed the samurai themes (And seeing as how different Go-On to RPM was, it's not impossible), so I'd be curious how they'd handle it.

Well if we're to assume they give as much resources to the production as they did for their previous seasons, and they still want to do Power Rangers, I think:

• We'll get full seasons, but it will be about 30 episodes or less, continuing the trend of increasingly shorter seasons during the Disney Era
• The Shinkenger adaptation would either try to work in the Japanese references or craft an entirely different story. Maybe something akin to Amit Bhaumik's proposal would be used. At any rate, I have more faith in Disney pulling it off.
• The Goseiger adaptation, too, would be a better effort, with more characterization and a better story.
• The opening theme songs would not be remixes of "Go Go Power Rangers"
• On the flip side, production values would not be as strong as Saban's. The special effects and cinematography wouldn't be as good. Remember that RPM was still in 4:3 standard definition and for three years since Boukenger went HD, they used visibly squashed Toei footage for many scenes.
• Power Rangers would likely fade even more into obscurity. It might be placed on less popular channels, and large parts of the world might not have shown it, like here in Australia or New Zealand. Disney would not bother to market it to the level of Saban's and Power Rangers would remain a niche show instead of the blockbuster it is now.

Read the adaption....why didn't we get this! It would have been freaking awesome!

It was pretty good, wasn't it? With something like this they could have made it faithful to the Shinkenger story AND still make it culturally and logically coherent.

I think Saban didn't do this because it requires a bit more planning and execution, not to mention a bit more effort in getting the right actors and filming extra scenes.

And probably funds.
