Every KR should have more riders than two
 

Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Den-O, Kiva & Gaim had more riders than two.

The only riders that had only two riders each are Decade, W, OOO, Fourze & Wizard. If only they had more riders.

Decade: If there was a second rider than Diend. If Diend was a third rider instead... this secondary rider should wield powers like Decade, instead transforms into secondary riders: Gills, Knight, Chalice, Kaixa, Ibuki, Gatack, Zeronos & IXA. Gokaiger -> Decade & Gokaisilver -> secondary rider.

W: If Kirihiko stayed alive, he would've been hiding in the shadows watching over Double. He would've received a Lost Driver from Shroud and became KR Nasca to help Double & Accel.

OOO: There was a lot of Greeed in OOO. Too bad there wasn't a reptile greeed to join the fray. Anyway, if the original OOO returned, he would've been reborn Dark OOO. And he'll seek to accomplish what was almost completed these 800 years.

Fourze: Meteor was the secondary rider, true. But if there was room for a zodiarts kamen rider, he'd be the opposite of Fourze. Fourze wants friends but the zodiarts rider sees the whole world & mankind his enemy. Eventually, Fourze helps the rider a little on balance, friend or foe. Let Meteor be the third rider instead. Those three riders, would've represented Utaoshi Rokuro, Gamou Mitsuaki & Emoto.

Wizard: True again, Beast is the secondary rider. But while Wizard has style rings based on a ruby, sapphire, emerald & topaz. Kizaki's group should have their own mage called Druid, with style rings based on an amethyst, amber, aquamarine & jade. Since Haruto is like Vash the Stampede, Kizaki's mage should be like Nicholas Wolfwood. Beast should be the third rider instead since during his final battle with Fueki, he set Chimera free. So Druid & Wizard are the only mages left.

Well except Mayu, Yuzuru & Yamamoto. Wish their designs weren't all mages.

Decade and W both featured 3 Riders in series (Decade, Diend, Abyss in DCD, and Double, Accel, Joker in W), while Wizard featured 4 (Wizard, White Wizard, Beast, and Mage). Technically there were 3 in OOO, but I'll be nice and not count Proto-Birth separately.

And I don't think the number of Riders really makes much impact outside of Ryuki.

I honestly think their should only be 3 at most*hero,rival/friend/partner and villain* for a given series.

Same here. Of course that would mean he'd have to have a shit ton of forms to make up for the lack of extra riders.

I'll take many riders over 1 or 2 most any day for a couple of reasons.

In terms of story, it helps to break the formula I'm freaking sick of. Figuring out what to do with the extra super powered characters gives more variety to the story and the writers have more freedom to do something different. It's not impossible to do that with only 1 or 2 riders, it's just makes things easier to do with a handful of rider.

In terms of marketing, the entire toy line isn't one guy in different outfits. This also helps limits the main characters from being to overpowered since they don't have to sell as many toys of that main character. It also allows for some antagonists and villains to get toys, something every good toy line needs.


PS And for the record, I love Kuuga, it's my second favorite series (pending Gaim's final placement). Of course I'd be lying if I said I didn't wish Ichijo became a rider at some point, so even then I want more Riders.

I love Multiple Riders, some of my favorites are the extra riders from series. I think Gaim is fantastic right now with how many there are. The only way I'd want a series with less than 2 Riders would be something like Faiz and have a ton of awesome support characters who also fight. However Gaim still has a ton of riders and a ton of support characters so we just need more shows like Gaim.
