I call Showa Sentai VS Heisei Sentai feat. Akibaranger

I expect it to be in 2 years when the 40th Sentai comes out and be 20 vs 20. I'm sure it'll feature some Kamen Riders too.

It wouldn't be Showa vs Heisei then though. The Showa era stops at Liveman, so its already 12 vs 26.

They'll recount it then. Considering Shin, ZO and J are made in the Heisei eras but classified as Showa makes me think that Toei could do some different division.

A clearer version of what ZeoRangerV said for those who don't know about the terms:

Showa era (when Japan's emperor was Hirohito): December 25th 1925 to January 7th 1989 -> Includes Goranger to Liveman (12)

Heisei Era: January 8th 1989 till today and as long as Akihito is still Japan's emperor -> Includes Turboranger to Toqger and onwards (26)

We didn't have long breaks in Sentai as we had with Kamen Rider, so the number of Heisei teams is far too large to make a Showa vs. Heisei movie or special of some sort- at least not if it's supposed to be fair.

So we could have, say, Goranger to Liveman vs. Turboranger to Timeranger, but that would leave out all the newer Teams.

After Gokaiger it would feel extremely uncomfortable to have a movie like this. Toei wants to celebrate Sentai as one big group (with the occasional fight in VS movies). Thanks to the long break between Eras Rider always had that rift between Heisei and Showa. Thats why we could have something like Decade that only celebrated a very small part of the overall franchise (for the most part).

The only break Sentai ever had in its history was between JAKQ and Battle fever J and that is only because Goranger and JAKQ were added to the franchise almost two decades later.
