Is a Goranger reboot likely?
I ask this because Toei has run the well dry on classic 70s and 80s toku series that they can reboot aside from Goranger. Considering it's Sentai's 40th anniversary coming up in a few years, I think the possibility of that is pretty likely. Plus, I think Toei would want to get out their reboot soon too as Saban is doing their with the new PR movie.

That would be interesting. Grandchildren of the original Gorengers perhaps?
|
Interesting. If Toei does a reboot, it'll likely be a movie-continuity. I wonder, have there been any fan attempts to modernize the suits?
|
I doubt it. They might make a series that has more homages to it, but a straight up reboot I don't see as likely.

I doubt it. The shows and characters they've been rebooting - Kikaider, Gavan, Inazuman, Akumaizer 3, Kyodain - are all shows/franchises that ended a long time ago. Gorenger was part of Super Sentai and that's still running - Akaranger even showed up in Gokaiger a couple times. The only time Toei's tried doing a reboot of an active franchise is Kamen Rider the First, and that a) has a larger adult fanbase and 2) sucked and its sequel tanked.

You know, considering toku seems to enjoy revelling in its own cheapness I'm honestly surprised we've gotten any reboots at all.

I guess we could see a movie of Goranger similar to Kamen Rider: The First next year or in 2016. I won't mind a animated movie or a OVA series based on the Goranger manga.

They tried this before, you know. Kamen Rider The First and Kamen Rider The Next. I don't know how they were received in Japan.
|
Well they might try it, I would like to see an homage more than a remake, I mean I don't know if Goranger is anything like Power Rangers in Japan but I mean if it has the Nostalgia to it I could see a remake work.
