I guess they will pull in a Star Trek 2009 on us by having this being a new timeline.

I thought that too. At any rate, this should definitely be an alternate timeline.

Roberto Orci never brought up Super Sentai. It would be cool if the movie had some elements from Zyuranger or maybe a nod or two to Super Sentai similar what RPM did.

This is okay, I'm more interested in the cast and plot and designs, but this is okay.

And reading some of the comments on IGN, man "Super Sentai is for adults."

We'll get it eventually. :) They haven't finished a script or gotten a director yet, so it may be a while. I'm actually surprised, to be honest, that this is moving along well. I admit I half-expected it to die before it even took off.

It could be a good cameo. When Star Trek 2009 was produced, William Shatner sort of campaigned to be in the movie. They even wrote out a scene for him. In the end however, they felt it was not appropriate so it was cut out, leaving Leonard Nimoy as the only returning actor. And Mr Nimoy did a great job of it!

To be fair though, JDF isn't Leonard Nimoy.

Actually in my comparison I was sort of comparing JDF to William Shatner. :lol
