Japanese Version vs Korean Version
I keep seeing Toku merchandise is sold in Korea in what appears to be identical packaging to the Japanese, minus the writing of course. I was wondering if the Korean figures, transformation devices, weapons & mecha are the same as the Japanese ones or if there are some differences. What are your guys' & gals' experiences?

Korean versions usually lack all die-cast, however if you're buying anything post-Hurricaneger that's not an issue. They also slightly lower the volume of sound effects compared to the Japanese releases on weapons and morphers.
Make sure what you're buying is Korean and not Taiwanese, too. The Taiwanese versions are also done by Bandai of Asia but often feature the wrong functions (i.e. their Mobirates is actually a Legend Mobirates in a Mobirates shell"). eBay sellers are often selling the Taiwanese versions but say its the JP or Korean versions in their listings. |
Eww, didn't know that. Thanks. How do you tell the Korean & Taiwanese apart? Also are these figures (like WFCs or OCCs) cheaper quality than the Japanese ones?

For example, the Mopirates says the Korean Power Rangers names instead of the Sentai ones. |

Korean Faiz Gear is pretty much the same as the Japanese versions aside from kanji on the keys. |

All the stuff I want is from South Korea, so I think I'm safe. But of course I just wanna be sure. Thanks for all the input guys!
