Nick makes bad choices
So, as per usual, Power Rangers starts mid February. Now with Nick, they show 10 episodes, take a huge break, and show the last ten in a season. This makes no sense. Yes, I know they want kids in the summer to get out and play all day. Fine take 11 weeks in the summer off. And one week during Christmas off. Most summer breaks are like 12 weeks. That's three months.
That still gives them 40 weeks to show episode. They can complete a whole Sentai season in that time frame. It would carry over and start anew the following week or two, like it used to. No more SUPER this and ULTRA that, just the season, shown in whole, over the course of a year, like they are supposed to. Nick still shows them, gets views, and all that Jazz. Heck even 36, or 38 would be sufficient for us. We can still get a good story that lasts all year and only one. No more two year bull crap. We keep getting further and further behind from Sentai. I mean RPM had so much awesome and greatness, and that 32 episodes. Come one Nick, so things right, and order 35-40 episode seasons. If they had, they could have gone until February 14th, starting new on the 21st, and skipped Christmas Week, and gotten 11 more episodes in and it still would have worked. One season can be done in 32-40 episodes. And Nick needs to allow it. No more SUPER bullcrap. |
I just gave up. Their logic is beyond my grasp.

Kids in america have short attention spans lol

This is the same channel that has had Spongebob as its backbone for nearly a decade and a half. You're looking for sanity and sensibility in all the wrong places.

To be fair, I kind of doubt a lot of TV channels these days are really that savvy. Many seem to stick to outdated business models, for instance, instead of catching the online wave.

Most shows go on hiatus, so it's normal but I feel like the hiatus for Power Rangers is too long. With a short amount of episodes to air, I guess Nick wants to have the later episodes air around when kids get back to school. Not to mention it would be closer to the holiday season when airing new episodes.
I think Saban is likely going to renewal to their contract with Nick until 2018 as long Power Rangers is doing well on Nick. Nick is the only channel that would want to air Power Rangers. CN would likely canceled it if the show is doing well as they expected. |
I suspect Nick realises that Power Rangers earns them something decent, but they don't fully appreciate having a non-Nick entity as part of their lineup. I'm hoping the movie in 2016 will jolt the franchise into massive success, making it easier for Power Rangers to justify more episodes and better distribution.

We are talking about the company that has decided to stop producting any more Avatar cartoons because they just aren't interested in adventure cartoons that entertain anyone over the age of 10.

Nick... the channel I only watch for Spongebob Squarepants and Power Rangers. I really don't care what people say about Spongebob, I say that Spongebob is one of the funniest shows I've ever watched and I sticking to what I'm saying.
