Ressha Sentai ToQGer Episode 38- "Let's Make A Movie!" Discussion Thread
Hey, a movie! What madness awaits the Rainbow Line this week??
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams are at 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
The movie studio in this episode is Toei Studio right?
That is if my memory from watching Akibaranger serves me correct. Kagura as director.....*shudder |
It's a good episode, actually, really surprise me that a filler episode in TQG can do this. The fighting overall is good. It's the first time Kagura not running away, and does win physically, which make this episode awesome in my opinion. The return of Rainbow Rush & drag scenes is good, too. Mecha fighting is just too short and quite meh though.
And next episode, HYPE! |
Certainly my favorite ToQger episode so far. Very funny & entertainjng, with great action & awesome SFX (the "illusion" scene). Yep, it's just a filler, but a damn good one!!

What this thread needs is more....passion. Lol.
I had high hopes for this episode due to the similar trope in Kyoryuger last year, but I was kind of let down. Still an average episode though. |
For the last episode before going into the end game it was fun, with the exception of a Christmas episode this might be the last goofy episode of ToQger. Also that security guard, is he a famous Japanese actor or something?
|
That Security Guard is the best character in the whole episode. This one, in all fairness, is pretty good. Even if it is just so I can constantly make Akiba references while watching it. And I would actaully watch the cop movie, even if it is all animated.
Also, the Kaijin's plan would have worked much better of he'd just replaced Star Wars Episode VII tapes with Episode I. Actually, just replace all movies with Episode I. So much darkness... |
It was a cute episode. It wasnt anything special and some of the jokes fell flat for me but I was still entertained all the way through.
The highlight of the episode though was the security guard who was played by legendary suit actor Tsutomu Kitagawa. Kitagawa is famous for portraying Godzilla numerous times and was the suit actor for Denji Blue, Goggle Black, Dyna Black, Shishi Ranger, Ninja Black and alot of other classic sentai heroes. He also did the action choreography for Gekiranger in which he also did the suit acting for Bat Li. |

And i was so happy to see the old bazooka again :D By the way: Quote:
It would have been awesome if he had defeated the shadow with some nuclear breath but i guess that would have been overkill :D |
