Gaim's relation to the bible
 

Has anyone wondered how the Gaim series is connected to the bible somehow?

- Genesis: Adam & Eve
- The tree of knowledge, tree of life, the forbidden fruit
- Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Bujin Gaim, Mars, Fifteen & Jam.

I think the whole "DJ Sagara is the devil" thing was kind of a stretch considering he said "if that is the role I will play so be it" (paraphrasing)

I like Vangelus' idea of it being an idea that gained a physical form, Sagara's being evolution.

Gaim is my bible.

Aside from that, the one thing with the king and queen plus the apple and the tree is an obvious fact, but I think calling it a "connection" or a theme is a bit too much. It's only an inspiration, and seeing how they had different religious/mythological motives in it (Yggdrasil) I think their goal was to combine various human beliefs in the act of creation and tie it all up to have roots in the existence of Helheim.

The Four Horsemen thing sounds made up though. Jam and Mars are the same deal, even though they have different names. And Bujin Gaim? The Gaim-repaint from the crossover movie? Nah.

it's more the themes of what the movie riders + Jam had as their motifs.

Jam: Pestilence/plague
Bujin Gaim: Famine
Mars: War
Fifteen: Death.

What if there was an exodus involved in the Gaim series too?

The energy riders have the genesis driver.

It doesn't just take on biblical mythology, but also Norse. Yggdrassil being the tree of life and it connected Earth to another realm.

And the realm was also taken from Norse Mythology. At least the name, Helheim.
Also Kouta and Mai can also be seen as the couple that survives Ragnarok (which was also referenced in the Goseiger movie).

I did my BSC thesis on the similar themes between Gaim and Norse mythology I'd link it if i hadn't deleted it in joy. But the main things have been covered, Sigurd, Alt Mai's similarities to Iðunn and the survivors of Ragnarök. but one thing that gets swept under the rug is the wyrm NÃ*ðhöggr gnawing at the roots of Yggdrasil while the unnamed eagle sits at the top (sounds familiar) sadly the 4 stags (who also gnaw at the tree but at is branches) would have to be 3 of the normal Genesis riders and the other Mitsuzane or Kaito.

Takatora could be Abel, sort of a priest in the Yggdrassil ''church'', while Micchy is a mix between Cain (killing is brother favored by God) & Judas (betraying his friends to gain some wealth/power).

Speaking of esoteric reference, currently I'm playing Shin Megami Tensei 1, which is full of them. Why bring this here, will you ask ?

- An invasion of monsters from another dimension occurs in your town, because a scientist opened some gates.
- A stranger provides you a tech device to fight them.
- You can collect those monsters and use your device to swap them in battle.
- Comrades join your team, but they have their own agenda and you may have to figth them.
- A local executive leads an army and brings martial law, using the monsters at his advantage with the help of the scientist.
- You have to save a girl with mysterious powers whose destiny is to be your partner.
- A global missiles attack is directed at your town by a foreign country.
- You could become a supernatural being depending on your morale choices.
- You meet Lucifer, who wants a future where individuals make their way with their own strength.

Sounds familiar ;) ?
