What would you like to see in a KR series?
This kind of topic is popular in the Pretty Cure fandom, so I thought I'd try one here. I know I'm new to Kamen Rider, but now that I've done a decent amount of research, I think I'm aware of the tropes and cliches associated with it. So let me ask: what would you like to see in a Kamen Rider series?
For me, I'd like to see... 1. Prominent female riders (and with actual character, not just there for the Smurfette principle or for fan service either) 2. Less complicated plotlines 3. Disabled characters 4. Main characters with families (is it just me or do the main characters of KR not have families? Parents? Siblings? Huuuuuh?) 5. Flower motifs. 6. No Rider wars. This is just a start. I'll have to see more series before I can decide what I really want out of KR. But feel free to discuss what you'd like to see in KR here! |
Honestly those kinda cover largely what I would want. :lol I would however want them to avoid using white and pink for a female rider. I think it would be more interesting to see Red, Black, Blue. Colors you don't see too often in shows like that on female characters.
As for other things, I'd like to see a more permanently attached belt, or at least something that doesn't have to manually be attached. I would also like to see the belts be called something more unique, like in the Showa and early Heisei era. I'm sick of Driver being used, it's been driven into the ground with the current 'Drive Driver', and I think it needs to end with it. Cyclone, Typhoon, Sunriser, Rouzer, that's the sort of thing is want to see return in belt naming. |
Female characters. Central to the plot. That don't die. (C'mon, think about it. Kamen Rider may be fun and games, but it ain't exactly socially advancing television)
Dinosaur Riders(?) Ooo, a plot with a central Rider, and varying 'bad guy' factions who try to manipulate and control to get the rider to kill the other factions. |

What was Riderman's disability?

He doesn't, or rather didn't, have a right arm. It got stuck into a vat of acid during an attempt at torturing him to death. Although he had a replacement via surgery, which also allowed him to become Riderman in the first place. |
