S.H Monsterarts Godzilla 2.0 Officially Out in Japan
Hope this is newsworthy, if not please move,
In case anybody still hasn't picked up a SHMA Godzilla yet, it appears the 2.0 version is starting to hit Yahoo Japan auctions. Probably the most obvious difference between the two will be the boxes: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...dzilla2box.jpg Looks like the 2.0 version will not have the sticker for the effect piece that the first version included. For those that haven't picked up a SHMA Godzilla yet, it may be a good idea to ask sellers first which version they are selling. Also, the small Godzilla sticker on the left now has the year 2012. The first version has 2011. |
Nothing to indicate it's not just a new production run. Huge mounds of salt here.

All the way back last year when Godzilla finally was made available for preorder it was stated that his atomic breath accessory was a first-production bonus piece. When the preorder for the June release went up earlier this year, every listing made it clear that you no longer get the effect piece.
They still do. This isn't a box variation, this is the reissue, officially the second production run, and you no longer get that effect. You'll have to get it from another collector or get the red spiral ray included with Fire Rodan (or the red ray from the G-Force set, but that's a lot of money to spend on one piece). There is nothing to take any amount of salt with regarding this news. |
Which version of Godzilla is this? I know the first one was the Heisei era one. Is this Showa?

I thought the atomic breath was only with the first edition of the first release?
|
The first release is the first edition. Any Godzilla before these June releases are part of the first production run.

Outside of the breath, is there a difference in figures? I have heard some bad things about the Monster Arts line, such as MechaGodzilla missing teeth and bad paint aps all around. Is there any truth to this? |
