Medicom
I had a few questions, so hoping for some answers.
How tall are these things? Because some pictures make them look six inches, then some make them look six foot. And how poseable are they? Ignoring my idiotic spelling. Because as expensive as they are, they better be tall and the most flexible anything ever. |
From what I know, they're usually about a foot tall. They have a very articulated metal(?) skeleton covered in a rubber oversuit and then the armor. The rubber itself does seem to make them a nightmare to pose too much; as with Hot Toys and any other high end collectibles, the rubber runs the risk of tearing if bent out of shape too much.

They're all 1/6 figures now, which is about 12" tall. Medicom use to make 8.66" figures but I think they stopped making that line for a while now and just focus on the 12" line.
They're pretty flexible but not a lot of people are willing to twist and turn the joints to post them because the costumes are easy to break and if you keep them in a stretched out post for too long the costume might tear. these are the 1/6 bodies inside the costumes. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg28/...jpg&res=medium http://static.hlj.com/images/med/medrah-524.jpg |
Then what is the point of all those joints, if the costumes rip so easily? They might as well not have any articulation. Especailly for the price you pay.

In my opinion, buying 1/6 figures is mainly for the looks and to be displayed with like Sideshow statues. I would prefer SHF if it for the articulation and the durability.
you can still pose them in a simple position like Den-o's Ori Sonju pose, just nothing fancy like a rider kick position check out Cooksux's reviews and pictures on Medicom figures http://www.cooksux.com/reviews/12inch/ |
The cloth costumes on Gokai Red and Shinken Red looks a bit worrysome, Shinken Red especially. I dunno, I still kinda want Gokai Red but I don't think I'll be willing to pay full price for it. Are there any reviews of Gokai Red out there?
