"Shin Gojira" (New Godzilla) begins production
 

Looks like the upcoming 2016 Godzilla film titled "Shin Gojira" (New Godzilla) is now filming in Japan.

Anime director Hideaki Anno (Gunbuster, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water) and live-action Attack on Titan film director Shinji Higuchi are currently collaborating on the film for a Summer 2016 release date.

I just want to see what he looks like. Final Wars is still the most recent Toho Godzilla film, and that has me slightly worried. If they could take inspiration from Legendary Godzilla and make him look actually scaley and like crocodile hide or something, that'd be awesome.

I just wonder if Godzilla fight another monster or not? A stand alone film is fine, but I do want to see a new monster from Toho. The MUTO's felt like that they where the bugs from Starship Troopers and The Cloverfield monster fused into one.

"Shin?" Is this one also gonna end with tearing out an enemy spine?

Three spines if it's Ghidorah.

The MUTOs felt like a legitimately good attempt at making new monsters for him to fight instead of immediately adapting a famous foe.

Plus, it was clever to have more American-sensible monsters pitted against such a traditional Godzilla portrayal. (And then of course have Godzilla prevail)

Or be co-opted by his evil younger brother to fool the people fo Tokyo into thinking Godzilla's betrayed them?
