Legendary and Warner Bros. Pictures Announce Godzilla vs. King Kong for 2020
So it looks like it's finally happening. It looks like King Kong: Skull Island is set in the same universe as Legendary's Godzilla franchise. Godzilla 2 is set for June 2018 and Godzilla vs. King Kong will be out in 2020. For years fans have been asking for a remake and now it's finally happening!

That is going to be one huge Kong. I just hope they actually have this thing planned out unlike their DC movies.

YES. I am so down for this. Now if only we can add in Pacific Rim to it somehow.

Yeah I am really not interested in this at all :lol

I discussed this at length with a friend and we both agreed that a Godzilla-sized gorilla is gonna look utterly stupid. Godzilla works because his design is believable as being a creature that large. He's bottom-heavy with giant legs and small arms and a head with small features. King Kong is just a big gorilla, though, and with arms that big and legs that short proportionally he's gonna look ridiculous swinging that much weight around at that scale.
Unless they're gonna keep Kong "small" and have a David and Goliath senario with Kong using his small size and speed against Godzilla's size and slowness. |
They would have to find away to make Kong the same size as Godzilla.

It's five years out, so I'll believe this is happening when it happens. For now it's announced. Between then and here are three Kong movies and two more Godzilla movies. They say. So when it happens I'll get excited.

I'm not super psyched since I'm not a big King Kong fan.
I dunno how it'd work since their movies tend to be focused on the human side of things rather than the monsters themselves. |

Meh. The original's actually one of my least favourite Godzilla movies so can't say I'm all that excited. Hopefully Legendary will be able to make it suitably epic though.
