Zyuohger Episode 20- "Champion Of The World!" Discussion
Misao has agreed to join the team! But the Dethgaliens will not stand losing their favorite player...
As always you can view this episode via live stream on Saturday by heading over to Taima TV. They play other miscellaneous programs up until the live broadcast starts. Live Streams of the Superhero Time block start at 6:30 PM Eastern Standard Time on Saturdays. |
Episode 20 was good. Misao is super cute and fun. He have potential. After 4 episodes, he have more form and more solo transformation than the 4 Zyumans XD
And another hiatus. I want my cute Misao and my cute Tusk now XD Love the "It's the power of two awkward guys" line in the preview. My guess is that Tusk will teach him what he learnt in his focus episode with Leo. Instead of saying "It's my fault", he should try to found a solution to his problem. It's one of the many things i love in this show. The focus episodes are coherent. And it pretty much confirm the recolored Cube Weapons for the Zyumans (Owl is green version of bat wich is introduced in a Tusk episode. Zebra is a white version of Kirin wich was introduced in a Amu episode ect...) |
This episode was pretty fun. I really enjoyed the gag of Misao not feeling worthy to have basic things. I'm also really happy that Tousai Zyuoh didn't combine with the other two yet.
I do have some conflicting emotions in some parts, though. While I like Misao being mopey instead of constantly brooding, I also didn't let things be taken very seriously aside from his one scene with Yamato. I don't quite know what to expect. Anyway, I liked that the Zyumen were actually just his delusions, so they were basically his current feelings manifested, and I really loved how he attempted to walk off dramatically, but quickly stopped. It was kind of funny. I also really enjoyed him realizing that he saved the bowling monster, so he sulked off. While this episode has me a little conflicted, I really enjoyed Misao (I'm also glad he kept his all beasts unleashed power). I don't know where things are gonna go for him now, but the next episode looks pretty nice. Seems Tusk gets sick of his shit pretty quickly. |
Just realized something. Nex episode is a Tus/Misao focus and at the end of this episode, Misao was finishing the Elephant Zyuman doll XD

So... Misao is incredibly awkward, self-depreciating, and has a bit of PTSD. Wasn't entirely expecting Akira Part 2, but it leaves the door open for possibilities and isn't the dark brooding I was hoping he'd avoid. His bouts of "I don't deserve this" were annoying sometimes, but I still thought he was funny at points, especially when he started moping in-suit. There's also the fact that he somehow still manages to be a badass when he puts his mind to it, and the zyumen just being his insane delusions instead of the actual spirits of the zyumen.
All in all, Misao seems like a pretty good addition to the cast, as long as he gets his act together eventually. Tusk better talk some lasting sense into the guy next week. |
A moping version of Kanji from Persona 4 ? Is it just me seeing it !?
Though perhaps I have been playing it way to much in the last couple of days...... |
....I do not like what they've done with this guy. I know there's the usual trend of Rangers becoming less interesting when they go from evil to good, but THIS....this is a CLEAR example of that if I ever saw one. I was REALLY hoping for this guy to be a consistent bad guy for a while now, and even moreso, that he'd actually DO some evil things, that way when he goes good, he actually has things to feel remorseful for.
But this?! He's a whiny, mopey wuss now, for little-to-NO REASON!!! He barely did anything other than just beat the Zyuohgers up each time they met! Heck, he explains that he feels remorseful for even the Zyumen he absorbed, when that was GENIS who put them into him, not by his free will(which would've made for a more interesting situation BTW). Overall, I really didn't like this Episode... |
The mopey thing was an intentional gag, as evil rangers tend to enter full brooding, loner mode once they become good, constantly bringing up how tormented they were.
So they chose to parody it by having him mope over everything that goes down. |

Finally got around to this. Misao is delightful. I really love how socially awkward he is - completely different from the badass he seemed to be while under Deathgalian control. The delusions were hilarious, too. I really wasn't expecting this to be the direction they went with the character and I'm loving it.
