In the Cassiopeia system, the KyuRangers face an unusual challenge- a baseball game!

Why does everything have to have a baseball episode?

That was pretty solid. The plot's classic Sentai wackiness and although we don't get any particularly deep insight into Spada, the episode is at least actually about him this time (Xiao repeatedly being the butt of the jokes here is downright karmic), and they do focus in a bit on the idea of him as this zen master of cooking who can explain anything in life in the form of a food metaphor, an element of his character that made him a surefire favorite of mine way back when the show started and I didn't realize just how much he'd be in the background.

Next week looks to finally be doing something interesting with Garu too, so it's nice of Kyuranger to finally remember these characters exist before the show ends.

Seen the episode now. Yeah, it was a pretty silly episode overall.

Also, I like how the Kyurangers were implying Jark Matter were cheating a lot when they themselves weren't immune by the fact that Raptor prevented a surefire homerun by FLYING and catching the ball. Would have probably helped later on when Jark Matter threw the bat at Raptor while they were looking up at the sky to catch the ball but eh, plot conveniences...

EDIT: I did like the Goranger call back with the baseball though.

@Topic: This was okay, just a mindless fun episode. But not my favorite sports-themed Toku episode, that place is still taken by Ultraman X's rugby episode.

You're Joe Longbow. Mostly unfazed but still in the game. The rest should be obvious :lol

One thing I feel Kyuranger does better than Zyuohger IMO is that they gave the other rangers character arcs (Stinger & Champ with Scorpio, Evil Naga and Balance and from the looks of it, Garu's getting one too) and that it has a more ongoing plot which makes feel grander in a sense. Initially I thought the Kyuranger was okay with the first half, but when the Evil Naga arc started is when i was really enjoying as they started fleshing the characters and the story out a bit more. BTW I actually kind of like the silly episodes in this show, mostly cause I think they're hitting the right notes.

It's silly filler but it was pretty fun. Like the Hurricane attack reference.

No but seriously that's pretty much exactly what I look like when watching Kyuranger. :lol
