Between Ankh and Woz, which one you glad didn’t become the big bad? (Spoiler?)
I wouldn’t consider this a spoiler because this one is more about what could have been than actual story.
Originally, Ankh was supposed to be main antagonist and final boss for Eiji to fight at the end of the show but things got changed and Dr. Maki who was supposed to just be the main villain of second arc end up becoming main antagonist of the show. (I believe the chemistry between a Eiji and Ankh might be one of reasons for scrapping the idea of Ankh being main antagonist) Same goes for Woz. The original plans for Woz that he would make a Heel turn and becoming the main antagonist and final boss for Sougo to fight but due to his popularity with the audience and chemistry with the heroes led to Toei scrapping the idea and have Swartz of all people took his place as main antagonist of the show. That what they get for making the character too entertaining than heroes but then again, the only reason they watch Zi-O beside seeing returning riders appears in the show so they can enjoying Keisuke Watanabe’s entertaining performance as Woz. (Do you really genuinely care about Sougo, Geiz and Tsukuyomi or you just only care about Woz and his Iwae! Shticks?) Between Ankh and Woz, which one you glad Toei didn’t make them as big bad? |
Ankh was supposed to be the big bad?
Huh. Didn't know that. |

I guess if actor have a great chemistry with main actor, they might scrap the original plan and make you still good guy. |
Ankh. He was interesting enough as he was, such a turn was unneeded IMO.
Woz needed...something. Anything to make him interesting. |

I surprise you're not fan of Woz since he's pretty much the reason the audience only watch Zi-O for (beside Returning Riders) |
Ankh's writing change is something I'm actually glad happened because I feel it worked out for the better and just ultimately works with the themes of the show way more than if he had just become the main villain. It honestly rounded out OOO into the perfect show for me!
I've said it before and I'll continue to say it every time; Zi-O was a complete and utter mess, and that's what's worst about it and what's best about it. Would it have made more sense for Woz to end up the villain? Yeah, and just a few seconds thinking about it you can easily imagine how the story would go in that direction. But a bit like OOO, I really like the idea of someone like Sougo having his influence rub off on an antagonistic force and turn them around for the better. I wouldn't have Zi-O's little squad any other way; they're definitely one of my favourites out of the Heisei Rider shows! |
Both because I'm much prefer what we got for both Ankh and Woz. (Also you should probably stop generalizing why people watched ZI-O)

Talking of War Core, that movie's a treasure trove of ideas they had in development. Eiji's jobsearching; Gotou starting off as Birth; "Giru"... the whole tone and the disposition of a lot of characters is very different to the TV show as well. How much of that is applicable to original ideas and how much is applicable to Inoue's writing though is naturally up to speculation.
