Shuggodam has fallen to the Bugnarak. In order to save the remaining kingdoms, a new alliance must be forged.

This show feels like the series finale will be in 3-4 episodes.
Despite this, we're only in the 2nd quarter.

This makes me worry that the show will really start dragging it's heels soon due to how frontloaded the plot has been.

I thought Gira reuniting with Kogane and Boone was a pretty emotional scene, after he let them believe he was dead for months.

While I have my own problems with the pacing of the show, I'm interested to see how Gira deals with the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head after he takes the throne from Racles. There's this fantasy cliche where becoming the monarch is a happy ever after, but I think it's more appropriate for this show to focus on that point as the start of a journey, rather than an end. We have to wonder how Racles went from the innocent teenage prince in flashbacks to the ruthless despot we know. The king of Shugoddam may have to make some tough decisions and the second half of the show could focus on Gira trying not to end up like his brother.

I don't say this about many Sentai, but I really think King Ohger would make a great anime.

I realized something with this episode.
It's that even though it felt like Racles was the character I hated the most (for obvious reasons), he is the one I want to see more about.

I think his downfall as a king happened too fast.
We're 20 episodes in, and he got 2 small spin-off episodes for himself, but I feel like we barely saw him, especially as Oo-Kuwagata.
We got the first trial by combat, a fight scene in ep1 of the special and everything else is really small appearances.
The gold crown and lance were stolen waaaaaay too quick from him (But like people said, it's a King-Ohger thing)

He is probably the character we know the less about so far while he might be the one knowing the most. It's kind of a shame he spent lot of time sitting in the throne threatening the good guys instead of acting

Poor Diamond Danjim... He just wanted to introduce himself... At least he got to in the end.

A little backpedal, since Suzume is basically Kaguragi's spy, it would be kind of funny if she actually was head-over-heels for Racles, but it seems it was all a ploy. Props to Duuma (is that a Bionicle Reference!?) for standing up to the Bugnarok, what a guy.

Anyway, I like how they called back to Yanma wanting to prank Racles for the fun of it, and he's still kind of dead inside as he falls for it, which just makes it funnier since even with the added shock of nearly dying, he has about the same reaction as he does in Yanma's vision.

And of course, we get the team together and reveal their name to Deathnarok's brood, which was great along with the fight with all the members, and mad respect for keeping the detail that Jeramie is the one who can really go toe-to-toe with Deathnarok.

Next Episode: Rematch! *Though it feels kind of cheap to use the king power-up in a fair fight for who gets to rule, even Racles didn't use that in round one. But eh? What do I know? I'm with Murray Burnumberton Barney Mumbersby as a staunch Racles Supporter...*
