Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger Episode 23- "Shugoddams' Moving Castle!" Discussion
The only way to stop Daigorgs' rampage is an ancient power hidden within the Caucasus Castle.
|
Now that Gira is king of Shugoddam, what’s next for Jeramie? Will he finally become king of the world?

Solid episode. I like how they handled the magnitude of the situation. You felt the urgency of the people to comply to Gira's order.
Lucky that castle didn't destroy a lot of the kingdom. It could have easily caused as much damage as Daigorg. |
I like how Yanma imploring Gira to stay in the castle while the others go to fight shows similarity to Gira's confrontation with Racles in the first episode. Gira's usual instinct is to jump in to action to protect his subjects and be the greatest kindest tyrant king they deserve, but he also knows the best chance of saving Shugoddam in the long term is to stay put so he can be ready to operate King Caucasus Kabuto when it's up and running.
Even his overly tyrannically-phrased declaration that his subjects are gears has a good point to it, that everybody has a part to play in keeping the machine, Shugoddam, ticking. It's a good conclusion of a head vs heart conflict that acknowledges the value of Racles' tactical ability as something Gira can learn from to make his altruistic ideals come true, by having the courage to trust all his allies to work together to give him the opportunity he needed. After seeing King Caucasus Kabuto in action, I thought it was awesome and climactic! The way the interior castle rearranges itself reminds me a lot of DekaBase Robo and I especially love the cockpit design with how the mural on the roof becomes the background and the throne is at the center. It feels like a powerful ancient weapon for sure! |
