For past seasons, do you watch Power Rangers or Sentai first?
Basically as the title says - when catching up on shows, do you prefer to watch the Sentai or Power Rangers version first?
I've been feeling nostalgic for MMPR lately, and I'm currently struggling with whether I want to watch Dairanger and Kakuranger first to get the full experience of those storylines. For me I'm not a big PR guy, but I love Sentai. When I got into it I watched Zyuranger first, and it was great because it was MMPR nostalgia while also giving me the original storyline and more thoroughly-developed show. But now after 10 years of being a fan I'm very used to Super Sentai, so I don't think Dairanger or Kakuranger will have the same effect and might even reduce the nostalgic impact of MMPR. Anyways, don't just answer my dilemma, I want to hear everybody's opinions! |
With the exception of Ryusoulger, I’ve always watched the Power Rangers versions first.

For me, everything is pretty standard: PR was the first for the Zordon-era show, for everything else, it was the first Sentai.

Power Rangers first, since that's how I first experienced the genre before I found out about Sentai and it's easier to judge fairly without having biased knowledge of what's original vs adapted.

Generally speaking, I go with the Sentai first.
I watched Power Rangers pretty consistently up to SPD, and while my memory is far from perfect, I do recall the general gist of the seasons, so I just opt to watch the Sentai if I'm not in the mood for a rewatch. |
I'd watch the Sentai first. Dairanger was actually the first non-currently airing season I watched because it never had a proper PR adaptation. I caught most of the Saban to Disney eras as they aired, but I view the Sentai seasons as being an entirely new experience

I'm in the opposite camp. I usually watch the Power Rangers version first because that's what I grew up with. For me, it's all about the nostalgia. and seeing how they adapted the original stories is fascinating. However, I can see why you'd want to savor the Sentai first, especially since you're such a fan. I think watching Dairanger and Kajuranger could give you a fresh perspective on what you loved about MMPR. It's always interesting to see how different cultural contexts shape the stories! Plus, I'm curious if you've tried any hero clicker games. They often capture that same sense of adventure and teamwork!

Sentai only. I abhor PR

Sentai and main PR only, I despise the Korean “Power Rangers” dubs.
