No.1 Sentai Gozyuger Episode 43- "Kuon's Decisive Battle! A Present From An Angel"
 

The TegaSword Village is decorated for Christmas, which has Hoeru remembering happier times.

Well, this episode will be especially enjoyable for those who believe in Christmas miracles. While in the previous episode it seemed like everything was going to be the worst possible way, here the heroes overcome all the difficulties. Kuon makes peace with his brother and turns into a power-up. Divine robots also find common ground and become a family. Moreover, Tega Sword admits for the first time that he was wrong, too. It's also worth mentioning that the Dual Tega Sword pilots in the battle are Ryugi (Tega Sword's main supporter) and Rikuo (who saved Bouquet just last episode). This is clearly no coincidence.
Overall, the episode is about family and gifts, and, as I said, is very much in the holiday spirit. In principle, given everything that happened, it could have been the last, but we still need to try out the new Kuon in action. So, in the next episode, Ninja Red will finally emerge from the shadows.
Fire Candle also doesn't like this ending and wants to continue the fight. And there's still the threat of Calamity, a powerful and rather slow-moving dark force. So it's too early to lay down our arms.
If there's one thing I'd criticize about this episode, it's that it needs a scene of Sumino at Oto's bedside. Even if it's only for a second, I think it's a necessary touch.
P.S. The giant robot knitting the scarf is brilliant. Although it's not so surprising after Bundorio spent a whole year cooking curry on the last show. Also, does that mean Goode Burn left his father without a gift?
P.P.S. It's always nice to remember Gekiranger again. The idea of making Scratch a sportswear manufacturer really paid off in the long run, as it allowed for a very subtle reference.

So, Hoeru gets a tremendous Christmas gift in that he was able to reconcile with his brother and then have his brother join the crew as Beliarok for Super Sentai. :lolol

Reminds me of how Nada became a power-up for Koh, albeit tragically, not a living one. Hoeru's childhood Christmas wish finally came true, but maybe he's regretting that now that Kuon has turned crazy. :p

I appreciate how Tega Sword finally acknowledged his son's name. While Goode Burn hasn't had much focus throughout the show, it's sweet how the idealistic open-minded child reached the hearts of his feuding parents and brought a peaceful conclusion to the conflict between Gozyuger and Bridan.

While Fire Candle has been pretty chill with the Gozyugers, I think his reaction here makes sense. After all, they've been murdering his friends for nearly a year, so while he probably doesn't care too much about being personally betrayed, he clearly takes offense to the betrayal of his friends who fought and died for a cause that Tega June would abandon so abruptly. Now that Kuon's arc is dealt with, I would like to see the classic Hoeru and Fire Candle rivalry return to the foreground.

Maybe there was a scene filmed for that, but containing Imamori footage. I was certainly a little caught off guard by the casual dark note that Sumino would spend Christmas with her comatose sister, while everybody else besides Fire Candle gets to have fun.
