Hanto/KR Valen arrives and doesn't help Shouma/KR Gavv fight against Shita and Jeebh
at all
, obviously because if he helped Shouma, then Shouma wouldn't lose so badly, which is not what's required by the subplot in this episode. Shouma
must
lose so badly in order to gain the required motivation to create the Caking Gochizou later in this episode. Hanto should better not go there at all, rather than arrive and end up doing nothing to help with the fight. Heck, Shita and Jeebh don't even know that he's there. But, if Hanto doesn't come there, then who would help Shouma who's badly wounded to get up and come home to Sachika's shop? Don't know! If your story creates a Catch-22 situation like this, then it usually means that your story is convoluted. A Catch-22 situation means you're creating too many variables in your story. And, as expected, Shita's and Jeebh's agents fail to find Shouma.
Shita's and Jeebh's agents are creating an explosion at the station to lure out Shouma. Where have the police been? They've never shown up to deal with or at least investigate the Granute attacks. Perhaps they're secretly conspiring behind the scenes, but at least they should act like they're doing something. The fact that the police have done nothing and the citizens don't even seem to be bothered with the police's non-action is one of the reasons why this story seriously lacks common sense.
In the scene @ 07:26 Hanto and Shouma are reading the same social media posts about the explosion created by Shita's and Jeebh's agents. They left a message for Shouma in the Granute alphabets, which tells Shouma/red Gavv to wait at the Mizoguchi warehouse, or else the damage will spread. Shouma can read the message, which is why he's not heading to the station @ 08:49, but to the the Mizoguchi warehouse. Hanto then brings up the strong Granutes (Shita and Jeebh) and their ninja-esque minions (their agents), and asks Shouma what's their connection to him, and he answers that they're his mom's enemies. Can't Hanto connect the dots already? The agents create a message in the Granute alphabets which no one can read except Shouma. Isn't it already more than enough information that implies that Shouma is very likely not a human? If this scene doesn't make Hanto's Spider-sense tingle, then it's clear this story is an idiot plot.
Nyelv kidnaps 3 Gochizous @ 10:18. I've just realized that Nyelv has never got his hands on the Gochizous. Not even one. How can it be that Nyelv, a scientist backed with Stomach's massive resources, has only got his hands on the Gochizous in episode 14, although it was implied in episode 4 @ 02:34 that he had already spied and known about Shouma's identity as KR Gavv, while Kenzou, a mere human with seemingly very minimal resources was able to get the Gochizous simply by kidnapping the Chocodon and Chocodan RG's in as early as episode 3? It makes no sense at all. Had Nyelv have gotten his hands on the Gochizous earlier, it'd have definitely improved his research much quicker.
Like in episode 13, Shita and Jeebh are blaming their current situation on Shouma. In the flashback scene @ 11:04, Shita and Jeebh are given presents on their birthday. Then a weird scene happens. Lango, Glotta, and Nyelv are shown to assume their human disguises by inserting their Mimic Keys into their Drivers which are detached from their Gavvs. Aren't the Stomach Drivers supposed to be attached to their Gavvs to function? Aren't they supposed to be an interface between their Mimic Keys and their Gavvs? Don't know! Although they may be detachable, at least they should be attached to their Gavv to enable them to assume their human forms. The presents for Shita and Jeebh are very likely their own Drivers.
Hanto ambushes the crab Granute who is in his human disguise @ 13:31, and the crab Granute can do nothing to fight Hanto, who isn't even transformed into KR Valen? This makes no sense. Isn't a Mimic Key only enables a Granute to assume their human disguise, but not lower their strength? After all, it's a human disguise, not a human form, so a Granute should be at his full power at all times, including when he's wearing his human disguise. Then why the heck the crab Granute can't do anything to defend himself against the untransformed Hanto? Don't know! Once again, like in episode 13, the crab Granute blurts out an important information when he's restrained by Hanto that he's just a lowly part-timer employed by Stomach corporation. He tells Hanto that Stomach is the one who's manufactured the Dark Snacks. And when he's finished reciting his infodump as programmed by the writers, he just runs away. Very convenient infodump! So yeah, like his scene in episode 13, this scene is just a blatantly heavy-handed infodump. It's very very
very
poorly, sloppily written, like 99% of this story. Combined with Shouma's identity as a human-Granute hybrid and likely as the Wolf Granute who kidnapped his mom 18 years ago, this infodump about Stomach will likely be used as a plot device to create a conflict/tension between Hanto and Shouma when Hanto finally learns the truth about Shouma and the connection with his past.
KR Gavv Caking form looks very nice. And yes, like I said last week, Shita and Jeebh are getting their asses kicked by KR Gavv Caking form. Shita is even seemingly killed in this episode, although her Mimic Key might've stored some of her memories. Last week I asked why Shita smashed her smartphone in rage. Now I get it. Who needs a smartphone when you're killed in the next episode, haha. Like shown @ 22:09, Jeebh is likely going crazy over Shita's death.
Kenzou is visited by Nyelv @ 22:42. Nyelv is likely about to enter the next phase of his experiment. And what about Kenzou? Hasn't he ever suspected that he could be manipulated by Nyelv when he's given the crucial information and resources about Granutes by Nyelv all this time? Even if Nyelv is in his human disguise when he meets Kenzou and claims to be a human as well when he's corresponding with Kenzou, if Kenzou has common sense then he should have already asked himself how the heck a mere human could get a boatload of crucial information and resources about Granutes.
Next week:
The debut of Lage 9 as Stomach's procurement supervisor.
The crab Granute says that he wants to leave Stomach. This episode will likely feature a conflict between Shouma who believes that the crab Granute can start his life over and Hanto who doesn't share Shouma's belief.
Lango is informed that Shita was defeated by Shouma/the red Gavv. What's he gonna do about it? His plan to marry Shita and Jeebh off to wealthy and powerful Granutes is virtually falling apart because Shita is dead and Jeebh is going crazy. Well, he can only blame himself because he was the one who kicked them out of Stomach's base camp in the human world. I can't really comprehend how Lango is thinking. He had a good plan in one episode and casually sabotaged it in the next episode with zero rationale. If his thinking is as weird as I thought, then he could be using Jeebh as the first test subject for Nyelv's new Granute-only transformation belt/device, now that Nyelv has gotten his hands on several Gochizous and meets Kenzou in person. If my hypothesis is correct then the New Year's Rider could be Jeebh, who would also sport a new look as hinted when he cuts his hair in episode 14 @ 22:09. Mmmaaayyybbbeee...
