What was great with Kuuga, is that his partner was the whole police. He was the sole rider with a badass-normal sidekick, and an army of red shirts. I think the formula deserve another try.

When you think about it, the local forces are almost inexistant in toku shows, they usually come in the firsts episodes to demonstrate how strong is the monster of the week and go missing after that. But in Kuuga they were doing their job, assisting the hero with what they could and sacrificing their lives to protect the population.
