I actually dig the swerve when it came to Koharu's decision to take the bullet this ep.

In a lot of typical fight or die shows/games/book/etc, this would normally be the breaking point where the pacifist character finally shoots someone and spends the rest of the time severely regretting it. But Kokaru stuck to her morals, and despite dying she doesn't regret a thing.

The end of episode stinger with her trying to convince the other girls in the game to stop killing each other will obviously fail. But it seems like the show is now hinting that it's going in the direction of everyone turning against the commanders and whatever is organizing the game.
