This story has sooooooooooooooooooo many stupid characters, be it main characters, side characters, or weekly guest characters, so it's very very very easy to find one, haha. The one who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed is not necessarily the crab Granute, but the writer(s). A story is only as sharp as its author.

The crab Granute's 20 years of experience mainly had to do with kidnapping whole humans, not Hito Pressing humans, since the Hito Press process is a recent innovation, likely only a year or so. That's why the crab Granute's complaining about the Hito Press process making his job harder is just an utterly idiotic statement. Like I elaborated in my post in the episode 4 thread here, any person with common sense knows that the Hito Press process has made the kidnappings much much much easier and more convenient for the Granutes. So, the crab Granute's complaint is just one evidence of how utterly stupid he was, and also a definite proof of how utterly stupid, lazy, cheap, sloppy, convoluted, and heavy-handed Gavv's story is.

TLDR:
Conveniently stupid characters for the sake of moving the plots = Stupid, atrocious story.
