If I had to choose only one, it would be Kamen Rider Saber: Trio of Deep Sin. Totally unusual (not only within the franchise, but also as a movie in general), very soulful and beautiful, and overall a thing that I highly recommend watching. Other favorites (I try not to choose the most obvious ones, which will definitely be mentioned by others):
- Kamen Rider Gotchard: Graduations. Despite its simplicity and short running time, it sank into my soul. Also a very soulful movie, which made me sincerely worry about Spanner, although throughout the show I was indifferent to the character. - Kamen Rider Wizard in magic land. A rather simple movie, which clearly lacks the budget for its idea, but I am captivated by its ambition. Plus, the final battle is gorgeous. And there is also river mayonnaise and incredibly funny extra shorts. - Kamen Rider Faiz HBV. An incredibly funny mini-musical. I know I won't get any support for this, but for me, this is the best part of Faiz. - Kamen Rider Agito: Project G4. It's strange that it's not mentioned much, but it's the first full-fledged Rider movie related to the show. And both the plot and the special effects look good even now. I especially like the similarities between the human and the kaijin villain. - Kamen Rider Shin. Prologue. I'll keep saying this until Toei listens: Shin deserves a happy ending. If they resurrected Takumi after 20 years, then Shin has a chance too. |

I'll just name 1 of the 3 big categories of Rider movies each:
Summer Movie: Wizard in Magic Land is a banger and nails just being a longer episode of the show. It hits Wizards themes well, it's stylish as hell and just incredibly fun. Crossover Movie: Heisei Generations is just a very well executed crossover that uses its cast well, avoids any significant continuity errors, and is just a delight to watch. Just fun! V-Cinema: Trio of Deep Sin is just good. Not good for a Rider movie, not good for a shlocky action flick, it's just good. It feels in line with the show it's based on, carries on its themes and motives, but shifts the genre into something more mature, and I mean this in the actual sense of mature. It's just really damn good and really was the best capstone for Saber while still leaving enough room for the world to be revisited. Really good!
