I've said it before but I love the reference to Knight Rider and Knight Industries.

While Madrex was an obvious reference to the Mad Max movies and its protagonist Max, the new boss Cannonborg and planet Needham, where he supposedly originates from, is a reference to the Burt Reynolds movie The Cannonball Run and its director Hal Needham.
