				 | Quote: Evangelion is not a good series. I gave up on it twice, I think I just read the ending on Wikipedia or something. Far, FAR too many anime get labeled as "Good" and "Amazing" because it has trippy or unique visuals. Akira is considered a landmark anime, despite it being f*cking stupid, just because the end when Tetsuo mutates the visuals go on an acid trip. Up until that point, I was loving the characters and the world that was being built up. All the themes about estranged youth and government run amok, apparently amounting to a blob of flesh because... Akira is Jesus? I don't know. Also, it's kind of ridiculous to deny the impact Akira and Evangelion have had, regardless of your opinion of them. I personally think that A New Hope is the weakest out of the original Star Wars trilogy, but I can't sit here and deny that it was a landmark in genre filmmaking. The influence is self-evident.

I freaking hated Akira. Granted, I did watch the original dub and I was told that they did redub it to make it...Tolerable (As well as the subbed version probably being available now, too).

Anime didn't handle the transition from hand drawn well.

				 | Quote: Quote: As for the topic of cooky crazy off the wall anime, i actually really like the fan service stuff like Burn Up Excess. That show was hilarious and awesome and weird all at the same time. I'm probably alone in saying that I enjoyed it but I also thought I was alone when I said I hated Miyazaki

I like anime, I just don't watch a lot of them. Like everything else there are good anime and there's bad anime.

I always thought that song sounded like it belonged in an early Japanese Transformers show.
