Whatever floats your boat. Point is he's five dollars for the foot long. Wizard isn't worth agruing the details.

I thought the first episode was good enough, not great, but rarely is the first episode of a show the best one. I hope it improves, I'm going to watch more of it, I didn't hate anything. I like the design of Wizard, and the way the magic circles are used for everything. It bothers me that mainly Wizard feels like he's meant to be a fantasy type wizard, fighting monsters, casting spells, and then every once in a while they act like he's a stage magician. It doesn't fit together. |

Man, Agito episode 19 was amazing. I hope the rest are that level.

The whole plot with him discovering that guy's stuff about how he murdered what did the murdering of his sister. I wish the whole show was like that. Genuine people drama overtop Rider fights. But I'm expecting more Gills screaming like a trapped rabbit and Agito being completely ignorant (willingly or not) to his rider exploits. I mean, he's a nice guy, but he seems pretty damn indifferent to... life. He seems to maybe be kind of breaking into giving-a-fuck-land by living alone, but, well, he seems to do nothing related to being a Rider. In fact, the whole show just seems... off. Like it's not sure if it wants to be human drama or a Kamen Rider show or whatever the horrible animal monsters are doing and the police's efforts to stop them, instead of being all three at once. These things, while intersecting sometimes, hardly ever overlap. It's weird. Most of the time as I'm watching it I'm all "this is good shit" and the bits and pieces are good, but overall I'm not feeling it. I can't really remember a hell of a lot that's happened, and I'm halfway through episode 20. EDIT: Also I'm getting pretty God-damned sick of that same old fight music and that atrocious "Aki" character. EDIT2: And I'm getting incredibly sick of Mana and that rotten child. The way Mana says Agito's real name is the most annoying thing in the world since my friend farted in my ear while I was eating. Last edited by SPLIT LIP; 02-25-2013 at 11:54 PM.. |

I dunno, I don't see myself being as enthralled by this show as W and OOOs. I guess I just prefer the peppier series with more energetic characters. Last edited by SPLIT LIP; 02-26-2013 at 12:05 AM.. |

Agito (And Kuuga, Ryuki, Faiz, and maybe Blade) is nothing like the Kamen Rider of today. Today it's about flashy effects and selling toys, but early Heisei was more about making a good story with good characters and good beat 'em up action. They stayed on the side of drama and mystery. Especially Kuuga and Agito. Quote:

Again, twenty episodes and it feels like barely a thing has happened. It's like Kabuto all over again, except Agito doesn't make me want to punch my screen. Quote:

I think the show is a bit too serious. So serious the silliness of Kamen Rider stands out a bit too much. Surfing his bike, a monster with a jellyfish on his head, pulling swords and shit out of his belt. These things contrast a bit too harshly against the melodrama, snail's pace plot and the fairly flat selection of characters. The ''flashy effects'' and ''toy selling'' of modern series don't bother me as long as the story is well paced. I'm almost halfway through Agito and I still don't know a lot nor has a lot actually happened. Quote:
Why do I even bother...

If you can survive the first 10 episodes of "What the fuck?", Blade has a wonderful sense of drama without seeming overly melodramatic as well as nice action (Well, I enjoyed it).
