Honestly? If Sentai takes a few years off and MMPR needs material? I'll be hoping for original stories.

Pokemon is probably having a huge impact on the ratings at the moment too, there's a lot of excitement for the new games and each show might have new information being announced (which is actually unlikely, but it won't stop people tuning in, hoping to see a new Pokemon). It also might take kids a few weeks to realise there's even a new show on. Once more merchandise is available and more of them see other kids playing with it, things might pick up. It's a bad start, but I wouldn't count Kyoryuger out just yet. There's also the fact that poor ratings aren't that big a deal for Sentai, if the toys prove popular enough. |

It's troubling, but given that GoBusters sorta cratered, it's gonna take time to stop the bleeding and reverse the trend. If worst comes to worst and it takes a few years off? Well . . .wouldn't be the first time for Sentai. Having a decade or so rest meant we were pretty pumped for the return of the Metal Heroes, so . . .look at it like that. |

Yes, actually, it would. Super Sentai has been running continuously since 1975, with only a small break of about a year between JAKQ and Battle Fever (and even then, JAKQ and Goranger weren't considered part of the Sentai series until the 90s).

That's the break I was thinking of--still counts, kinda, imho. Wasn't a LONG break, but neither was Amazon's.

I'm hoping next year, we'll get a firefighting series. That way they can complete the trifecta of emergency service themed series.
