Surprisingly it has kind of grown on me. I like it a lot better now that official pictures have been released compared to the anime leaks we had a few days back.

Question is, is it Mewtwo? The official material seems to insist that it's a totally new Pokémon. Check out the language from the official site:

"The mysteries of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y continue to grow with the unveiling of a Pokémon that is strangely familiar! It looks a lot like the powerful Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, but not quite the same…"

Or from their Facebook page:

"We're excited to reveal a newly discovered Pokémon! This mysterious new Pokémon looks curiously similar to the Legendary Mewtwo…"

i like it, i think it pretty cool. if this a new pokemon that would nice but im ok with an new from for mewtwo as long as its it fits in the store well

I honestly think that's Nintendo trying to be "clever and mysterious" than anything of relevance. Given the reveal its fair to say the earlier movie posters are legit, and since that movie primarily has Mewtwo in it I'd say its a forme given how standard Mewtwo isn't anywhere on the poster (yet the other main Pokemon - the shiny Genesect - is).

Also official sites have tried to pass off new formes as new Pokemon in the past. Keldeo being the most recent example.

I had hoped it was fake at first, but seeing it in game and the full art for it I gotta say I'm now digging it quite a bit. I'm not sure how I feel about all these different formes, don't know if its a cool idea or getting overused now...

How beautiful does the new footage look though? I know its the same grass field, but damn the pokes look good.
