The Makamou looked like they were just green screened creatures stretched out to make them look big, making their fights completely bland and disgusting to watch.

I'll give Agito one thing, they took a tired, insiped character archtype that would have just been another smug buttchild who either got his just deserts or turned good at the end and made him an actual, multi-sided character with history and motivations... who's still a shit-eater, but he's not just cartoonishly stuckup like half the chumps from Kabuto.

I've returned to Agito so I can finish the series and evaluate it properly. The pacing has not changed. It's not really that stuff doesn't happen, it's that it just take so long. I managed to grind six episodes and about enough has actually happened to fill three. This show feels like each episode is a full hour in the worst way.
That said, Agito got a new red form that's kinda weird, and Another Agito has shown up. Agito's new form has what's very similar to his normal helmet, shiney and smooth like a typical helmet, but the body suit is much more organic and contrasts badly. Eh. But really there were three episodes that were basically just Gills saying "I'm like Agito?" or someone else saying the two are the same over and over, G3 and Hobo talking about shit we, the audience, have known for five episodes now*, and the eternally awful Mana running away and having a little soul-searchy episode. What pissed me off, though, is that (quite refreshingly) Souichi likewise had a bit of "where do I belong" since I guess he realised he should have a story at some point, right? That's not the bad part, though. What's bad is when he's in his funk and putting these game pieces on a board because he's deep in reflection, and when he fails to answer to Mana's Goddawful pronounciation of his name, she flips his fucking game over. Oh, so it's okay when you have a little hissy fit and run away from home making everyone worry, but the guy who has the weight of the world on his shoulders is feeling, justifiably, down in the dumps and you start throwing shit? Get the fuck out. *That really is the show's biggest problem. Either too much time is spent asking questions that don't get answered until later, or asking questions that were already answered and characters are playing catchup on. It's verbal padding, and because everyone's speech is about as smooth and consisent as a crack addict driving standard, (protip: when a show's subtitles work in an elipses on nearly every line of dialogue, something is horrifically wrong) a lot and I mean a lot of time is spent talking about shit we already know. |

You only watched 6 episodes in one sitting? I watched all of Agito in 4 sittings, and that was actually one too many for me. Usually I get through a 50 episode series in 3 sittings unless I am watching it with friends or something.

And here I thought I was doing good when I watched all of Gosei in 7 sittings...

Like damn man people are gonna start wondering where I've been. my friends are gonna have me declared dead if I tried to do that many eps at a time. Quote:
Four sittings, a 49 episode series, let's just make that easy and dice it up to 12 eps a sitting. That's 12 22 minute episodes, 264 minutes total, that's four sittings of 4.4 hours. That's like watching two theatrical movies back to back four times. 3 sittings and I'd be doing deep dramatic breathing on the toilet. Last edited by SPLIT LIP; 04-27-2013 at 10:14 PM.. |

Kamen Rider Decade episode 5:
It was ok...I guess. Apparently the writers forgot that Garuru, Bashaa, and Doggan aren't Fangires. I don't get how Wataru's dad was able to just take Kivat by force, because it is implied in Kiva that a Kivat must either be passed down to you, or the Kivat must choose you. So, how was Wataru's dad able to just take Kivat by force like that? Yuuske was great, I liked his interactions with Wataru...poor guy got wrecked this episode though...Wataru even dug his fangs into him. I still don't get where this Wataru came from, or why the original Wataru left his world. I liked Tsukasa's speech at the end, and the fight scenes were good. Ryuki's world is next
