I was trying to work out why the show wasn't striking a proper chord with me despite enjoying it, and I think you've just hit the nail on the head as to why.

The villains aren't the best point in the show, but they're good. Dogold is pretty much Zen-Aku redone, which isn't a bad thing, Aigaron is useless and Candelira is awesome, quirky, and annoying as hell. But I still love her-she's memorable! Don't forget Chaos, though-when he shows up, s**t will go down.

Aww Candelilla hate. I love her and it is not because she is a pink bubblegum and smiles and not because of her voice actress. I happen to think she is a terrifying villain. I can hear people saying "wtf? Terrifying? No lol!" Yes, to me she is terrifying because she is not your common villain. She is not the lumbering, evil angry alien that you so frequently see. You can tell she actually believes that her cause is the right thing to do. She is loyal and yet she wants everyone to be happy but her own version of happiness which is some twisted thing. She doesn't even know what true happiness is. It's kinda like Frankenstein's monster where he thinks he is doing good but unintentionally hurts people. At least that is what we can see thus far. Her face is frightening in my opinion. I have her as my Facebook picture and people are like "wtf who is that psycho in the gimp mask?!" She looks psychotic, people don't usually associate happiness or smiles with frightening things but oh yes you can. She is the type if villain that can lure any unsuspecting child or person and just snatch them up all in the name is "happiness". I am really hoping we learn more about her in future episodes. I really enjoyed the tooth one we got to see more about her.

I think Aigaron is interesting too. Definitely not useless. He certainly can put up a fight. It's obvious he is more of the comic relief but he is the sadistic type. He feeds off of human sadness and suffering. Sick if you ask me.

I'm interested in seeing what happens when they finally have enough energy collected and the being they are living in awakens. That will be a sight!

I enjoy the show. I don't know I think they are just introducing us to the arsenal before it is time to shift the mood of the show but I could be wrong. I mean with the amount of beast batteries they seem like they are just unstoppable heroes but that must mean that the real problem should be coming soon. I know hope it is like the usual roller coaster ride. Victory victory victory and then a huge nosedive plunge down down down before defeat yet somehow they come out victorious.
