I hate Gokaiger, but I can see the appeal. Not so much for Shinkenger's case.

And no, I'm not ripping on Shinkenger or it's fans. I just failed to see where the mass appeal came from beyond the Origami (Which lost their appeal when every upgrade was a stupid ass helmet).

In my opinion the only thing Shinkenger has going for it is the theme music.

Your point? If I cannot even make it to my usual 10 episodes, that is a bad sign. Why should I sit there for 4 hours when just getting through half that feels like a chore? I figured marathoning the series would work better for me, as that is how I was able to get through Go-Buster, but I cannot. I tried and my brain cannot focus on Goseiger. Each episode feels like it is an hour long and I want to do something else. The only thing worse than Goseiger to me is Dynaman, which I made it up to episode 3 and then called it quits. Except for those two series, I have been able to watch every series from start to finish.

Honestly, I don't hate Shinkenger, but I don't think it is as great as people make it out to be. The first 12 episodes were fantastic, but it seemed to lose something after the first Juuzo fight. The mecha just kept piling on. Genta was down right annoying (like Shunpei from Wizard annoying) and is what I consider to be the worst sixth ranger ever. He was not ranger material, at least for being the sixth. And there seemed to be no plot movement at all from episode 15-40. I found the villains to be one dimensional, especially Dokoku, who did nothing but be drunk for most of the series. The only thing I found to be truly intriguing outside of Juuzo was the Kagemusha sub-plot, but by the time they did it, the series had lost me. It should have been done in the 30s NOT the 40s. It isn't a terrible series, but there was a lot of potential wasted.

Oh yeah, and the origami was some of the worst mecha concepts ever.

The appeal for me with Shinkenger is how much it felt like a live action anime. It was just so very Japanese but so very Japanese in a sort of how Western people think Japan is by watching lots of anime and I just found it awesome. I wish more shows would include a villain like Juzo.

That said I thought the show plummeted in terms of quality when ShinkenGold appeared who has to be one of the worst sixth Rangers ever. It also didn't help that it was slooooow, another great example of a fifty episode series that probably could have been like a 12 episode miniseries and worked considerably better.

I'll still never understand this argument, if someone isn't enjoying something how much do you really expect them to sit through? Who forces themselves to like something? Sure Kamen Rider OOO for example didn't get good in my opinion until about twenty episodes in but if someone watched the first episode and said how bland it was, which it was, I wouldn't tell them that they need to watch 20 episodes to make up their mind just that I personally didn't enjoy it until twenty episodes in. I just don't get this expectation on the internet that you have to watch the whole of a series you aren't enjoying...to not enjoy it.

So I'm still making up my mind on the Sentai however it looks like it is between, Abaranger, Bioman, Gaoranger, and Goseiger. I'm thinking about Liveman and Boukenger too.

BioMan's my favourite of those but then I'm big fan of the gloriously bad old sentai. Boukenger is apparently some of super sentais finest as well although I've only seen a handful of episodes.

Ah I did really enjoy BioMan from what I've seen of it. I am in the mood for something newer after BFJ. So any newer one is good.

Well I watched some of Boukenger and liked it. However I skipped to Bouken Silver so I'm sure to watch episodes 2-16 or just continue on.
