I like to find cost effective means of painting figures/minis and I've been seriously considering Army Painter primers and possibly paints. Has anyone here used their products? From what I gather, they're not too bad, but I would like to hear from you guys as well.

Never heard of them. I personally use Testors.

I've had experience using Tamiya, Citadel Colours, and Krylon.
If you're hand painting, I suggest going with Citadel Colours. Krylon works pretty well for spray painting and you can pretty much find it anywhere. |

I usually swear by Citadel paints myself.

Here, the website is pretty straightforward, even so far as to provide some tutorials and such. The primers really interest me due to the variety of hues.

I think I saw mention that these guys used to work with Games Workshop.
