More specifically, Granny Smith's line was
"You're always welcome if you're Apple kin" And immediately afterwards, Pinkie's verse starts up, which is what has me wondering.

So, one of my friends said that, because it's impossible to escape the show, he'd be willing to give it a chance. Once I told him it's currently as 65 episodes, a movie, and a 26 episode long 4th season coming up, he then said that he wanted me to get back to him with the "Important" episodes to watch, so I think I just figured it out.
It's from 28-37 episodes long, because some episodes I was unsure whether or not they were significant (They're marked with a question mark). Am I missing any "Important" episodes? I put mini descriptions for what made the episodes important, but I won't include the descriptions when I give him the list. Also, I decided that the Gala mini-arc was too self contained and had no bearing on the series beyond those 3 episodes. 1) Friendship is Magic: Part 1 (Mare in the Moon) - Introduces Setting and main characters. 2) Friendship is Magic: Part 2 (Elements of Harmony) - Introduces Elements of Harmony, Luna, various character traits and abilities. 3) Boast Busters - Introduces the level of magic Twilight can perform. 4?) Dragonshy - Is the Stare important? 4) Bridle Gossip - Introduces Zecora. 5?) Swarm of the Century - Introduces Twilight's panicked nature when it comes to Celestia 5) Winter Wrap Up - Explains that weather is completely managed by the ponies. 6) Call of the Cutie - Introduces the Cutie Mark Crusaders 7) Suited for Success - Introduces Rarity's singing voice~ <3 8) Feeling Pinkie Keen - Introduces Pinkie's Pinkie sense, Gummy 9) Sonic Rainboom - Introduces well...The Sonic Rainboom 10?) Stare Master - Seriously. Is the Stare important? 10?) The Show Stoppers - Introduces the possible talents of the CMC 10) A Bird in the Hoof - Introduces how awesome and chill Celestia is 11) The Cutie Mark Chronicles - Gives backstory on all the characters, explains how AJ knew Rainbow Dash performed the Rainboom as a filly back in "Sonic Rainboom" 12) Owl's Well That Ends Well - Introduces Owlowiscious 13) Return of Harmony (Both parts) - Introduces Discord 14) Lesson Zero - Twilight's neurosis concerning Celestia is reestablished, introduces the remainder of the cast writing leters to Celestia 15) Luna Eclipsed - Introduces Luna's new design 16) May the Best Pet Win! - Introduces Tank 17?) Sweet and Elite - Introduces Twilight's sweet dance moves, Pinkie's Party cannon 17) Secret of My Excess - Establishes how dragons age and grow 18?) Hearth's Warming Eve - Establishes that neither Discord nor Celestia and Luna founded Equestria 18) Family Appreciation Day - Establishes that the Apple family founded Ponyville 19) Baby Cakes - Introduces Pound and Pumpkin Cake 20) Read It and Weep - Confirms that Rainbow Dash knows how to read. 21) A Canterlot Wedding Part 1&2 - Introduces Shining Armor, Cadance, Chrysalis, and the Changelings 23) The Crystal Empire Part 1&2 - Introduces Sombra, the Crystal Empire, and the existance of Dark magic 24) One Bad Apple - Introduces Babs Seed 25) Magic Duel - Establishes that, despite Twilight's skill at magic, she still has limits 26?) Sleepless In Ponyville - Establishes a new power for Luna, who is now able to see inside dreams 26?) Apple Family Reunion - Confirms that AJ's parents are deceased 26) Keep Calm and Flutter On - Reintroduces Discord and makes him good/less evil 27?) Just for Sidekicks - Runs concurrently with Games Ponies Play 27) Games Ponies Play - Introduces Dash's potential father, confirms that Shining Armor isn't running back and forth between Canterlot and the Crystal Empire 28) Magical Mystery Cure - Introduces Princess Twilight Sparkle So...Did I miss anything?

If you're gonna have Suited for Success, it would be confusing to not have the other two episodes about the Gala. Though honestly, I wouldn't really skip any episodes, but that's why I'm not your friend.

Ok. I would say: Keep Dragonshy as it's good development for Fluttershy. Take out Swarm of the Century, since you'll get panicked Twilight in Lesson Zero. Take out The Stare Master, since The Stare isn't that important. Show Stoppers...if that's where they first introduce Cheerilee and the school, I would say keep it, if not, then take it off. Sweet and Elite while it is my favorite episode...I feel like it isn't that important (sure we get that the garden party is second only to the Grand Galloping Gala, but...). Keep Hearth's Warming Eve. Keep Sleepless in Ponyville. Keep Apple Family Reunion and Just for Sidekicks.
Swarm of the Century is just so that her snapping in Lesson Zero doesn't seem out of character (I might axe it, though). Yeah, I didn't think the Stare was important. Cheerilee is introduced in Call of the Cutie, so I can cut Show Stoppers, too. Sweet and Elite is almost solely for the Party cannon, which Pinkie uses to fight the changelings in A Canterlot Wedding Part 2. And I'll keep those 5, then.

And I guess he was thinking MLP only had one season or something, because his reaction to hearing it's gonna hit 91 episodes sure felt like it... I wouldn't recommend skipping episodes, but eh. What're ya gonna do? *Shrugs*

He's referring to my friend who asked me to name the important episodes for him, he's not being personal

So, any episodes I didn't name that you think I should include?
One of my friends on Facebook is being adamant that I should include Griffon the Brush-Off, but I don't think establishing the existence of griffons or the character Gilda is enough to warrant it.
