If there were KR shows to be adapted, what would you choose and how would you produce the story?
And.... Since KR Dragon Knight, how would you rewrite the story and its episodes? Including the characters? It would be nice to switch 13 rider war to 100 RIDER war. Highlander style. There can be only one. |

I think Wizard is the perfect show for an American audience. Both in the fact that it actually seems to have a decent budget, and set of cinematographers and directors so all the action scenes are stellar. But also, America clearly loves Urban Fantasy (I don't blame them) so I think if they mixed the fighting amongst teens falling in love, and discovering a world of supernatural lurking just behind every shadow, it could be a massive hit.

If they did OOO, maybe go for a Spider-man route for the main hero. "With great power, comes great responsibility."

I was gonna recommend Fourze for the high school setting, but then I remembered that they don't need the original series to have such a setting to use it. I think OOO or Wizard would be the best options for an adaptation.
I can't really explain why, but I just feel like those two would be the best.

I feel like most series would work, because you only need the suits and fight footage. Techy riders could work because you can apply those in many different unique ways, and the more mystical abstract riders can have their lore easily reinterpreted. Kamen Rider, to me, always seemed like it'd be easier to adapt than Sentai.
I feel like OOO, W, or Kabuto would work really well, since the suits and gimmicks translate really good and you can do a lot with them, or in the case of Kabuto, the suits are just awesome. |

I've had the idea of an American adaptation of Kamen Rider Wizard percolating around in my head for a while now. Instead of having it be magic, I'd have the theme be alchemy instead, since the magic in Wizard really was just a super-juiced version of alchemy (transmutation of elements from one form to another, the Philosopher's Stone, etc.) Here are some of the concepts that I came up with:
*Kamen Rider Wizard is now the Alchemist. He was given his powers the White Sage, who also charged Alchemist with protecting a girl. *The White Sage's identity is a mystery, but instead of being a new character, the White Sage is actually one of the Alchemist's friends, probably taking over Shunpei's role (minus the uselessness). *Rinko is more like the gunslinger from Movie War Ultimatum, and also fills in the role Kizaki played. *There is a greater focus on the relationship between the Alchemist and the girl the White Sage entrusted him to protect, going from two people allying themselves one another to escape a dark cave to more of a sibling relationship. *Beast's counterpart is a bit insane. As in, clinically insane. Heroic, yes, but havine a Chimera inside of him caused him to loosen up a few screws. |

I believe I've discussed this previously on Henshin Justice, but I think Wizard and Kiva would really meld well together as an adaptation
At the end of the first season, the hero loses his Fangire side during an eclipse. He's taken back to Castle Doran by Garulu, Bashaa, and Dogga. They use their powers to revive him and awake some deep mystical force in the process that manifests itself as the Wizard Driver and the Flame, Hurricane, Water, and Land rings

I think that OOO would indeed be one of the easier seasons to adapt for an american audience and certainly a fun one to do.
Though, it would have to go to a company that wouldn't be lazy and just awful when it comes to adaptations...so yeah, keep it away from Saban. I've seen Megaforce, and I don't want to see what damage they can do to OOO. ![]() |
