Gen 3 hate was before HeartGold and SoulSilver's time. During Gen 4 hate for Gen 3 was very vocal. However, after HeartGold and SoulSilver were released, people started clamoring for Gen 3 remakes and when Gen 5 didn't deliver, the nostalgia really started building up.

Besides, Gen 3 did a lot of things...like...like...abilities and double battles.

Id say abilities and natures were the important things made in gen 3 since i cant stand double and triple battles, although rotation battles i dont mind for some reason.

I rank it 2nd worst generation.

Starting something doesn't mean jack to me if the rest of the game was terrible.

For me Gen 1 IS the worst generation. It's also the generation I played the most, however.

My main beef is that 150 Pokémon are very, very limited especially with no dark Pokémon.
