I find myself craving Gundams again. 1/144 HGUC/HGAC Build Fighter, MG....the appeal is that each completed kit in a way, represents your skill. You truly can make these your own. I got my first Gunpla back in the late 90's and it is amazing to see how far Bandai Hobby has come with these. Just looking at how the new 1/144 HGAC Wing Gundam turned out compared to the original 1/144 kit......it's like night and day. I love the focus on color separation and more articulation. I also like how the HGAC Age kit stands had spots under their stands to store swappable parts. I now understand that as a model these will almost always look better than their toy counterparts. So I can see why Den-O prefers kits to RD's. In addition I understand that labor factors into toy costs but it seems like you get more bang for your buck with a kit(compared to a RD figure). For example the MG Epyon has way more detail and features over the RD and is much bigger when completed.

Yeah, the kits will be nicer than most figures if you paint them, and put in all of the work to make them clean. I love assembling kits. I got into the RD figures for the breadth of characters, and I think they compare equally to the HG kits. In some cases I think the figures are better than the HG kits, and vise versa in others. Each have their superior qualities. When it comes to Gundam Wing RD wins for me, though I do see the irony in paying $85 for a RD Shenlong when a kit would cost $20. lol. The MG kits are superior though, no doubt. I love where they are going with those, though I don't want them to get too much more detailed.

Do you guys think Turn-A needs a 2.0 MG? Also I have the G30th 1/144 Gundam. How does it compare with the HGUC RX-78-2? I was shocked to see that the G30th has an opaque white beam saber

I would definitely buy a Turn-A 2.0. I don't know if it's needed, but I don't have the original kit so I can't evaluate it. I keep meaning to pick it up but something else always takes precedence.

I just saw this, my dog looking at me funny cuz I went all spastic for a second. Also, all of the HG kits on display as well, including a new Aile Strike, V2, The thunderbolt kits in color; but mainly spazzing over a MG X. I can't believe they actually went and did it.
