They should have simply recorded someone playing the game and add voice acting, that would have been way better. :P |

It reminds me of Bleach before the Fullbring arc, where they managed to make a single manga chapter into multiple episodes. Just awful.

Shingeki 21.
We finally got our Titan Clash and it was...surprisingly crappy, largely thanks to the quality of the animation plummeting in this episode. Still, the ramifications of choice and tearing down Japan's reliance on the 'power of friendship' trope was really really fun. It was even more entertaining, because the choice to instead believe in one's own power failed just as hard and just as easily as believing in one's friends. This hopelessness is one of the best parts of this show, no one is safe, it creates a refreshing intensity, not knowing if the heroes will actually win, for real.

Shingeki 22.
The brutality of death in this show doesn't just stop with the deaths themselves. It was another slow episode, but also deeply moving. 23. Can someone explain this episode to me? I'm serious, I have no idea what is going on. Annie refused to go underground, then suddenly everyone knew she was the female Titan. Like what...what is so significant about going underground? I'm totally lost. It's like we skipped a whole arcs of information in the middle of this episode.

Armin already had solid evidences of her true identity, I'm not sure if they were explained in this episode, if not, it'll be the first thing explained in the next one.
Going underground mainly meant helping them, Eren had hopes that she was still trustworthy. |

Ah so episode 24 explains all. Or at least explains a little bit...sort of. I dunno why they bothered to tell the story like this, gah this show is so frustrating! It wastes its potential. Eren certainly was a good audience avatar this episode though, saying exactly what we were thinking.
Still, why is it all about Annie? What about the secrets in Eren's basement, and the colossal and armoured titans? The origins of the titans? And probably a shit load of other stuff I have forgotten. How is all of that going to get answered in the last episode?

![]() Silly Locke... Since the manga isn't over, a new season will have to answer that. |
