Depends where you're at, levelwise, I'm on my way to face the Elite Four, with Pokemon ranging from around 50 - 70.

Outside of a few, I'm at that level, too!
I think it's possible to flat level the Pokemon to Level 50 to keep the level gap from being too large, though.

Pokémon get knocked down to LV50 if you do a battle.

Actually, I can't seem to turn off automatically setting the level to 50

And I think you can bring Pokemon over that level and they'll be leveled down.
