Personally, I think the reboot only affected how the episodes played out, not the course of the story. Because it never felt like Kobayashi's original plan was dumped, just sped up a bit but there was a definite tone change in episodes.

But at least Go-Busters was brought to a somewhat decent end and not just abandoned like Decade was. After all, Go-Busters makes SENSE in the end xD Even if the end still doesn't feel completely fitting, it still answers some questions and doesn't leave us with even more confusion than the first episode...

Escape was broing and useless from the start and you clearly see that Kobayashi couldnt do with her what she probably intended to do. And the biggest change thanks to the retool was the rivalry between enter and hiromu. Until the episodes were Messiah was defeated the first time there were no signs they would go that route. Enters and hiromus character development seemed really forced and I dont think Kobayashi planned that at all. This whole thing strikes me as Toei trying to make Hiromu a typical red from one episode to another and forcing enter into the typical rival role. That it kinda worked out in the end is thanks to Kobayashi being a competent writer enough to pull it off but still it always felt to me like we were robbed of a more intresting story for both characters. |
