Ippo 30.
This show is obsessed with dicks. Other than that, there is never a lot to say about these 'bridge' episodes, obviously the training and preparation for a match is important but it doesn't give you a lot to talk about.

I watched the Black Rock Shooter OVA last night, because I've felt like buying the Figmas lately.
It was interesting. It wasn't what I expected, I think I liked it, but I'm not entirely sure. I liked a lot of things about it. I liked the art style in the alternate world, I like the designs of the characters, the fighting was neat. I liked the way the human story was told intercut with the action scenes. If it had been shown straight linear the character bits would definitely have dragged on and gotten very boring, but with it cutting back to the alt world every so often for a fight scene, seeing similarities in the characters to their human counterparts, kept me invested in the human scenes. But it explained absolutely nothing. At all. Who? Why? How? Not a thing is explained. None of the non-human characters are named, except BRS as the very last line, which I think actually was kinda dumb doing it at all. I only know the names due to researching the Figmas. Black Gold Saw we see in the very beginning, fighting BRS, and it looks like she stabs BRS, but nothing appears to come of it. We get a glance of Strength, for maybe two seconds, and she's just standing there, and then she is never seen again. It did leave me wanting more, so I'll be checking out the TV version in the very near future. It most definitely did NOT talk me out of buying the Figmas, so I'll probably start trying to pick them up on Mandarake soon. |

Ippo 32.
There was a lot more build up here, than match but Sendo is extremely badass, with a crazily unorthodox style. I'd still be more excited for this match if Ippo's hand wasn't shot though, he seemed to find himself more towards the end, but that only made Sendo more intense and push Ippo further into a corner.

Persona Trinity Soul episode 1:
It was ok. Kind of weird, and it seems that the main protagonist doesn't get a traditional awakening this time, with the "Per...so...na!" I'm not really a fan of how they animated the Personas, being all translucent and stuff. I musch prefer them being solid like in persona 4: The Animation.

Watched Nekomonogatari (Kuro) this morning and was very happy to see a proper return to form for the franchise after the rather poor Nisemonogatari.
Tsubasa isn't one of my favourite characters (but she isn't as bad as Nadeko) but she certainly has one of the more twisted back stories and it was great to see this properly fleshed about. The Meddlecat fan service aspect didn't feel at all forced which I liked, and it was great to Meme again.

I have a friend who has been trying hard to get me to watch FLCL. And I don't really get the appeal.
