				 | Quote: There we go I don't think it's the metacrisis Doctor either anyway to be honest, that ending was so much of a cop-out that I doubt Moffat wants to drudge it back up again. I was just speculating merely on how the pairings (or lack of in Tennant's case) seem to be going in the trailers/pics. |

Ugh, that ending which got rid of Donna in a most disappointing way.

Aside from Adam (who was a dick anyway) Eccleston was quite keen to pick up additional companions - he asked Mickey (who declined), Lynda with a Y. Meanwhile when Tennant came along in season 2 him and Rose were holding hands and acting coupley in almost every episode and the Doctor was suddenly more protective about who could join in. When Mickey asked could he come he was a bit abrasive about it even though he said yes. I despise the Doctor/Rose couple aspect, but I feel better just passing the romance off as a byproduct of 10's personality rather than something that was true to all incarnations.

Sometimes it was overdone, to the point that later on it became a bit tedious. I personally felt that by Series 7's The Angels Take Manhattan I was bored of her. However, The Name of the Doctor was a perfect conclusion to River's story arc, in my opinion. I'm happy to just leave it at that.

Don't tell my sister that though, she's such a gigantic River fan that she'll rage on me.
