Just picked up AC 01 Gaim from the parcel depot. As much as I'm going to love this figure I've got an honest plea for other uk buyers, don't use CStoys if you're in the uk. The service they give is great and they're nice people, but when it hits customs their packages get charged. And normally get held up 5-6 days. To get my gaim I had to pay £6 vat and £14 handling fee, up £6 from a few months ago. It's ended up costing me about £50.

On the other hand, I ordered Barons rose attacker from amiami last week. Took 3 days to arrive. Cost me £20 total.

As a result, I'm debating cancelling my SHF space sheriff shaider, losing the money I spent as I can't justify the close to £40 it will cost to ship it and pay customs.

Assuming, because you're talking about CS Toys and high customs fees, that your Shaider is coming from CS Toys, there is another (cheaper in initial cost and probably shipping, too) option in the future (they may have some once people don't pay for theirs, too, but for now they're sold out).

Nippon-Yasan does preorders for exclusives, and you don't have to pay in advance (if you don't want to). I got (am getting as soon as I pay tomorrow) my Shaider (and am getting Blade King, Psyga and Imperer) through them.

yeah i know, i'll be picking shaider through a mate at a later date. Id rather write off the money ive spent than waste so much more on dealing with customs. Its a real kick in the teeth but im comfortable just buying from shops that dont get hit in future

Season One Akiba Red and Gokai Yellow arrived today! I have now completed the Gokaigers in Figuarts form! It's always nice to complete a team in toy form.

Given this month didn't have any new Figuarts releases I was interested in, I figured I'd try to complete the Gokaigers finally with Silver, Pink, and now Yellow.

What really surprised me was that Gokai Yellow still had the brown box exclusives tend to have. In fact, she was never even opened, the brown box was slightly damaged on one corner.

That's what is amusing when it comes to purchases on Mandarake. A lot of the times you have to wonder what is considered 'damaged' given I think most of the time at least that I've purchased from them, I've not really seen any visible damage.

Yeah, I sort of love that Mandarake tends to over-estimate how much damage affects prices. I've only ever gotten one thing from them (well, that wasn't damaged in shipping) that was actually in bad shape. I'm always pleased when something still has its exclusive brown box.
