I've heard more people say the director dude is a jerk than I've heard of this fan film. Can't say I can confirm that, never talked to him myself. Least not that I know of, I'm always a happy mo'fo and deal with people as I like to be treated. Can't help to wonder that more people would support this guy's idea if he was not just friendlier, but understanding. Criticism is best taken in good light, cuz from what I read in this thread, there's a larger amount of people not liking this project. Not saying bend to people's will cuz then you're never pleasing everyone, but don't exactly retort rudely.

The MMPR Film is not a topic of discussion that is allowed at RangerBoard or at RangerCrew. Things went south between Dom and RangerBoard, rather notoriously, and RangerCrew ended up shutting down discussion when things got very heated.

THE FOLLOWING IS HERE-SAY. THE INFORMATION ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE SECOND-HAND, AND MOST OF THE DISCUSSIONS ON THIS TOPIC FROM OTHER SITES ARE REMOVED. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING AS A GRAIN OF SALT - THESE ARE NOT BEING STATED AS FACTS, ONLY AS STICKING POINTS TO THOSE WHO ARE VERY, VERY AGAINST THIS PROJECT.

The points of debate (I do not know reasoning) - that Dom raised more than his goal on the initial KickStarter, then opened a second fundraiser on another website, which irked many of the fans. Another reason was this was promised as a film - it's has now changed in to a "series of web-isodes". Third was a revelation from a college buddy of Dom that stated that he is only in this for exposure and for what he hopes is an eventual payday, that he decided to use "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" because the franchise has picked up popularity lately and he hopes to cash in on the nostalgia. An interview with Morphin Legacy had Dom answer the question about haters in which he stated (paraphrasing) - "They don't bug me. They're going to watch it either way." Then a report came out that the actors of the film were going to hospitals and telling disabled kids they were the Power Rangers (which, technically, they aren't).

Now - I tried to initiate an interview with Dom a long time ago. I was ignored. Don Money, who is really a great guy with a good heart (and posts here), set me up directly with Dom for an interview. There has been no contact since then, and that was a couple of months ago.

I want to give Dom a chance to address some of the negativity that's been cast upon him and this project in an unbiased and professional manner. Everyone deserves the right to defend themselves against accusations on their character. I want to like this project - the crew involved seem like really awesome people who love to interact with the community. And I would love to be able to promote their work with clear conscience. But before I can do that I need, and I think the community needs, some of those questions answered.

Hey guys! My name is Matt Meinsen, and I'm also one of the actors involved in the project. I play Detective Stanton, partner of Don Money's character of Christian Tate. Like Don, I've been reading around and checking feedback on the trailer and came across this thread which I read top to bottom. As any actor, or any artist of any kind knows, criticism is part of the job, and often one of the best ways to analyze one's performance. I will be the first to say, I have responded "not so kindly" to some posts I've seen around on other boards, not because they were critical, but because they were more attacks and personal comments than anything else. I commend you guys on this board who ,for the most part, have kept your criticisms to actual criticisms and kept it professional and courteous. There will be the occasional personal attack, I get that, but in situations like this I attribute it mostly to the passion of the fandom. On that note, I will check back fairly frequently and if there is any questions that I can answer, or concerns that I can address, please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to do so. There has been a LOT of rumor, most of which I'd be happy to address, some which I can't, but an awful lot of which I can assure you, has NO basis in truth (and some of which, honestly, does). So...ask away if you like, if not, that's cool, too. All I ask is to keep it courteous, and understand that, based upon agreements I made, there are just some things that I will not be able to answer and I'm not avoiding the question.
