I didn't see a thread on Local Heroes so I figured I'd start one. For those of you not knowing what a Local Hero is - Local Hero (Wikipedia)


I'll start this thread off with... Earth Warrior Zeros!

Earth Warrior Zeros is the Local Hero for Anime Jungle Osaka, Japan and Little Tokyo - Los Angeles, CA.

I filmed this last year, not the best video but it's something. You can find more information about Zeros at zeros000.com

LOL! No, although inspired by professional heroes, Local Heroes are an original concept. But lets keep it Tokusatsu related.

Kaito is a really interesting character, like a 50/50 mix of local and real hero. He was created by Shotaro Ishinimori. Or at least some preliminary work was done on the character prior to his death though under a different name, Tetsu Majin Shadoru. Eventually that design went on to be Chojin Bashan but the original sketches were later picked up by the Ishimori Manga Museum and a film was created. You can exclusively see it at the museum in fact.

The best part is that his actor is the same guy who portrayed Kamen Rider Gattack! This is the first time I've heard the theme song as well, and damn it is amazing.

I tried forever to find some footage of the movie. But just the official site for now so all the information is there for anyone who wants to translate. I'm about to get obscure with the next few posts LOL!

Yeah like I said the movie has only ever been screened at the Museum. Not other copies exist for any other purpose. They've never solid it or had rentals or anything. It's unfortunate because I think a lot of people my self included would really like to watch it.

Fujiyama Ichiban

Not really a Local Hero, but the heroes of Fujiyama Ichiban are one of the first Indi Toku-Heroes created for America. I guess you can call them "Roaming Heroes" or RONIN Heroes, heroes without a city to protect LOL! The Fujiyama Ichiban team plans to go mainstream like the Power Rangers. But for now, they are restricted to stage shows, webcomics, and soon to be Webisodes.
